Simpsons movie everywhere...

At least the potenatial success of the Simpsons movie won't be hindered by minimal marketing budget... must be quite an impressive amount of money to try to quarantee that it flies ? loads of street, press, TV and cinema advertising

Old friends now in Kamppi !

It's 7 years since I last tasted Speights and Mac ... and yes now they are in Kamppi in the Aussie pub - nice

Finally....

Sort of a longer dream come true yesterday.... after 600km drive from Oulu, 6 hours of Steely Dan CD bath in the car filled with holiday laundry, stuff and most of all windsurfing gear, I (and Vili will have some qtime with dad now :o) saw finally Steely Dan live. Fantastic gig - toimi kuin junan vessa ;o) Great sounds - band played like dream and Donald seem to be getting just better and better.













Then off to Helsinki despite of the huge tempatation to stay and have some more time with great music (Tuomo Prättälä would have played in the evening) and friends...

Finland looked beautifull and the nightly air was scented by cornfields









And it's just so nice to wake up at home and it's SCORCIO !

Have been fighting with airsotf guns with the boys - amazingly effective ones (and Otto & Vili are extremely effective too) ... from 50 meters got a really nasty hit straight into my nose and another into front teeth (lucky I did not loose that)













Had to use the only really cold item in the house (Saku beer can) to cool the bruise down

Real loser... ?

Had a great dinner (mom's muikut-ruisjauhossa-ja-voissa).... and discussions with Outi and mom. The Greatest loser in the global economy is not the local employment market nor local producers but our individual value bases - we'll abondon our commons sense and seem to finally "outsource" the thinking how much each thing should cost (really), who should earn his/her living from the things to keep other things/places alive, what sort of quality one should expect to support sustainable world,....
Global economy seems to be supporting just shere consumption instead of improving our total quality of life.

Well it comes back to me of defining what the global economy means to me and my enviroment. Just that it seems that we tend to pick up the worse options intead of the best ones ?

Done, done and off to holidays... Pihtipudas

Finished patio expansion project (after celebrating it first pretty heavily) and managed to pack all the new gear on the top of car ... off to Pihtipudas.















Valtteri had made a welcoming note with some candies for us (Otto and Vili sucked the candies before I managed to take a photo of the total thing)...













Then Solid 11 hours of sleep later ready to pay the first visit to Pihtipudas "downtown". Valtteri insisted that we would need to pay a visit to Shark exhibition in the local shopping center. My skeptism was punished with quite impressive real size GreatWhiteShark - now that I would not like to meet when windsurfing in Alvajärvi...

O o o oooo...

Finished the new patio base today - now it's just about putting the deck on and I can go on holiday with good conscious...













Also had time to test rigg & "drive" the new board and 5.8 sail with Power XT on the grass ;o) 2morrow it will the first water test drive in very nice 10m/s wind.
With my normal luck in these matters I propably will brake both the sail and the board. Knock-knock-knock on my wooden head.














The positive point in that (even if I somehow magically managed to buy 2 sails where my current boom just falls in between and a mast that still requires an extension) the gear actually fits into the car.... which is nice.













Good to have some positive things in otherwise not so perfect day....

Billy !!

We (me, Otto and Vili) went tonight to long awaited (by the boys... I'm waiting Steely Dan like "kuuta nousevaa" ;o) concert of My Chemical Romance in Jäähalli. As far as I understood, as a surprise house warming band there was Billy Talent. Great stuff ! Full of energy - great music.














Chemical Romance was good stuff too but somehow Billy & gang stole the show for me. The boys liked MCR more. Well maybe they actually cannot be really compared - both great in their styles.

Otto took a really nice shot on his 6630 of MCR...













... and now he wants to go to Billy's concert tomorrow but ears are aching despite of earplugs (I luckily made the guys also wear)...
